WILLIAM GUENLEY   

William Guenley, beloved son, husband and dad passed away peacefully on Aug. 14, 2008, after a brief illness.

Bill was a graduate of Moriarty High School.  He was promoted to first lieutenant in the field in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with Valor.  He married Linda Sponenburgh in June 1972; they lived in Albuquerque.  Their wonderful son, William, was born while living in Taylor Ranch and later moved to Adelino.

He attended Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute and graduated with computer programming skills.  He worked his way up and made many friends at the New Mexico Department of Labor, retiring in July 2001 after 27 years.  Bill attended the University of New Mexico over three decades.  He enjoyed many hobbies including photography, rock hounding and building wooden ships.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda, son, Will, mother, Barbara; brother, Vaughan; nephews, Ty and Gabe.  Bill will be missed by many, some of whom we will never know.  He is now at peace.  A memorial service was celebrated on Aug. 20 at French Mortuary, University Chapel.  Interment followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
